I’m certainly not impressed with their customer service. We are told by the service guy that our parging would be fixed and a year later, we find that the company has decided not to fix it. There is so little pride in workmanship.

Do not buy a house from this company... they are the worst building company I have ever dealt with. Before you buy a house knock on the neighbourhood and ask who built their house and how they were treated. If I had done this, I would not have been in this mess. Lots of little things that was not right and when it comes to Customer service; like the review below it is non-existent. We know things aren't going to be perfect but it is what a company can do to help fix the problems or come up with solutions but they seems to think of ways on how they can get out of not fixing the problem by ignoring emails and phone calls. I still have all of my emails that I sent to them and didn't get reply back or it takes months for reply back.
Do not buy a house from this company. There, I have said it. We bought a house from them - fabulous design in a great community and at a good price. What could go wrong? Well, pretty much everything. Once we signed on the dotted line, things went downhill. Customer service is non-existent; the site supervisor is rude and arrogant. We ended up overpaying for a corner spa bath that is damaged and unusable. Right now they have not fixed the bath (4 months after moving in) because they say the damage 'may' have been caused by us. Actually the damage was caused by THEIR builder's rubble being dumped in a brand. new. bath. and the house was so dirty when we moved in (including the bath) that we could not see the damage. Not only was the house filthy when we moved in but we had no appliances, there was a workman fitting the stone around the fireplace, the carpet had not been completely fitted and the paintwork was in a terrible state - lots of dents, scratches, marks etc. And there were LOTS of 'etc'. We are still waiting for some basic work to be done - front door & garage surround to be painted, window well to be dug and completed, damaged kitchen unit panel (we have given up on the paintwork and will do that ourselves). And the grading . . . they will always be here 'next week' and have blamed the winter, the spring rain, the Calgary floods, other developments. Funny how the other builders in the area have completed their grading. Once they have your money, they refuse to answer telephone calls & emails. Absolute cowboys. Take my advice AND DO NOT BUY A DOUGLAS HOME.
