The Yogis Den is the best yoga I have ever participated in. You feel like you are a member of a wonderful loving family, each and every session brought a smile to my face . . . and peaceful happiness to my life.
The Yogis Den is a boutique yoga and fitness studio with a focus on community building and personal growth both physical and psychological. It offers hot and warm yoga classes for all experience levels in addition to one-on-one private lessons, workshops and fitness classes that include zumba and barre. It's also one of the few yoga studios in Calgary to offer joga, an athletic-based practice.
With just two rooms, smaller-than-typical class sizes allow for plenty of individualized attention and helpful adjustments. Students can safely pull out of a pose or go deeper, knowing they're being watched over.
“We get to know their names versus just letting them walk into a class,” says owner-instructor Falicia Feres. Rather than the commonly used member-card scanning system, Den clients check in with a front-desk yogi up to 30 minutes prior to class time.
From the chalkboard covered in positive affirmations to a seating area featuring blankets, pillows, candles and life-size Buddha statue, the lobby is cozy and welcoming. Whatever a client's reason for coming through the doors, Falicia says she wants to give them a place to de-stress, sweat and feel at home. The back yoga room features a soft and safe floor, oil-scented humidifiers and a tall, trickling waterfall. The adjacent fitness room features a hardwood floor, mirrors, ballet bar and an array of exercise equipment.
