While looking for a way to work at home so she could look after her child, Terra Pidwerbeski discovered mobile spray tanning through a friend’s cousin. “The cousin is a flight attendant and she had bought a mobile spray tan booth and gun so she could prepare herself between flights,” Terra says. “Every aspect of mobile spray tanning appealed to my life: I could work from home and book parties for when my significant other could look after our child.”
She started Sun in a Gun in 2011 after renovating her basement to make it more comfortable for receiving clients during the week. Now, after another child and an increase in business, Terra is especially thankful for one thing: “St. Albert has been such a supportive community,” she says. “The community has been hugely supportive of small and local businesses, and I didn’t know anyone when I moved here. This is a wonderful city.”
