Sprouts Kids

Like many great businesses, Sprouts began with people recognizing a need that wasn’t being filled. In this case, those people were Emily Pengelly and Faye Rauw, two young mothers with newborns in Toronto. “We started brainstorming together about what was missing in our community for new parents,” Emily recalls. “We wanted a safe, clean, large play environment for children under seven, and there just wasn’t anything around.”

So together Faye and Emily created an indoor activity and learning centre that offers what they saw was missing. “In the big cities like Toronto, there isn’t a lot of space for kids to learn and explore in big environments,” Emily says. “So places like Sprouts are an alternative to hanging out at a coffee shop or park, a place where you can go and play, but also sign up for classes and drop your kids off for programs.”
