    Amazing Chicago style Deep Dish Pizza! The staff were all super friendly and the pizza was amazing! I couldn't get enough!! Can't wait to go back!

    Mike Yaworski had spent most of his adult life working in the restaurant and bar industry, but when he decided to open Double D’s pizza on Gerrard Street he didn’t expect the reaction he got. “I don’t know how but the word got out, I think it was a blogger that said some kind words in the first few days we opened and then my Instagram account blew up,” says Mike. “So in the first few weeks we went viral. There were lineups out the door. It was just mayhem."

    After nearly two decades running a bar and restaurant, Mike wanted to slow down and thought the pizza business would offer better hours. He didn’t want just any pizza place though, and having been a frequent visitor to Chicago, he had an idea. “When I decided to own a pizza place I did research and there was no deep dish in Toronto," says Mike. "So I thought if I’m going to do pizza, let’s do something unique.”
