I'd heard about this place from several people I knew, but it was never a place that interested me. I think a big part of that was the location, in that silly little mall/office building.
We went there to celebrate my fathers birthday, and my first impression was that it was nice, but a little dark. In fact my mother had to step out into the "mall" area just to read her menu.
I ordered the shepherds pie (it was the cheapest on the menu and I'm not a big meat eater), as did my boyfriend. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak and my dad had the porterhouse. It took over an hour to get our food, the waitress claimed that the steak had to have some special magical way of cooking and that's why it took so long. The small of smoke and fire extinguisher told another story.
When our food arrived I thought "Really? That's it?". The portion seemed so small, and the side salad was laughable. However once I started eating I really enjoyed the meal, as did my family, and in the end I wasn't even able to finish it. Then we all got free desert, some sort of cheesecake thing that was pure awesomeness.
So in the end, we all really enjoyed our meals and would return again. Hopefully with a shorter wait though.

Great food! I loved their meatball and cheese fritter appetizers so much. I don't order steak, but I had some great fish, and my boyfriend loved the steak. Delicious and unique.
Only thing I did not love was the choice of deserts. While the cherry ravioli was nice it isn't my type of desert.
Service was great 3 out of 3 times I've been there and the one time our salads were missed and the food was slow our desserts were comped. Over all great experience and nice addition to Hunter street.

I really enjoyed it. We ordered 3 different rolls and some Sashimi for a group of 4 people and everything was prepared well. The service was great and the sushi was high quality.

The best prime rib on the planet. The galric toast is mind blowing the Caesar salad is to die for and the deserts are wicked. Staff is amazing. Cant wait to go again

great service, been several times even on fridays when they are extremely busy with dining and take out we still get the great halibut which they are known for.
have been going since 1987 and still appreciate that they hand cut fillets of halibut daily. servers are friendly , not a large wine list but have by the glass at very reasonable prices. very happy with the family fish and chip business which started in toronto in the early 50s. note all salads homemade

Well stocked West Indian and East Indian food store...everything you need from the West Indies and India...many items you cannot get at most Supermarkets or food stores..all though it is a bit far for me (as I don’t have a car) I take 3 to 4 buses to get there..or sometimes in the summer or favourable weather..I use my three wheel electric bike..which has a large basket at the back that I can put enough supplies to keep me till I go back again..
