After filling up with gas, my car would not start at the pumps at the Husky station adjacent to the Fort Horseless Carriage garage, around 6 in the evening. I was attempting to get on a ferry back to Victoria, but that plan had to be abandoned, along with my car at the garage. The attendant, David, allowed me to push the car in front of the bay doors for the night. I returned at 8 the next morning where I met Gavin, one of the mechanics at Fort Horseless Carriage. Always courteous, always willing to closely listen and add remarks that fit the situation, and even told me there was no problems with my car when I went there for a tuneup.
