Been to many different vietnamese restaurants throughout the city and found this to be the most authentic. Menu is easy to read and explains what every dish is and are rated based on popularity. Food taste excellent and is served in large portions. Service is also quick and waitress comes by frequently to check if anything else is needed. Very friendly staff and seems to know most people by name. Does however need a little bit more style and decor and maybe even a public bathroom renovation may be required. Otherwise great restaurant if you want vietnamese food. Would definitely eat there again!!

I have tried Holy Smoke twice now, once for dine in and the other was take away. Both times exceptional food, service and portion. It's a bit off the beaten track, but the reward is worth seeking out this authentic little BBQ joint. Go hungry, eat lots and try the array of sauces!

Servicing the business sector of downtown Calgary, West Restaurant is a great place to have lunch with colleagues or clients. The atmosphere is very modern and populated with business clientele, the service is quick, the pricing is reasonable, and the food is delicious.
The only challenge I had was that I didn't make a reservation for lunch, and at 11:30 it was very busy and our table of 3 just about did not get in. There isn't any signage in ScotiaBank (as of posting May 21, 2010) as to where to go, at least I couldn't see it, so you have to make your way to the 2nd floor to enter the restaurant.
Overall, I would visit West restaurant again.

I went to Joey's last November during their East Coast celebration. I had their mussels and lobster bisque and I was amazed at how good it was. The lobster bisque was a meal in itself; so thick and flavourful. The Mussels were cooked to perfection and the vegetables added a nice bit of colour an flavour to the dish. Our server was very friendly and very attentive I wish there were more like him.
