We had our heat pump fail on New Years a couple of years ago. Called one company who came out and took out a part that was causing the heat pump to fail. So he hooked up so our electric furnace would keep us warm. It did of course, but we then used a lot more electricity- enough that the Hydro company called because our bill/usage had skyrocketed.
Unfortunately, this company didn't deal with replacing a heat pump. We found one dealer who came out and said a particular part was kaput, so we needed to replace the furnace and the heat pump. and gave us a price.
At that point, we figured if it was the whole system to replace, we should check out another quote. So one of the companies we called was Grand River. Bill came out assessed the situation. He found that that part could have been replaced for a lot less than the whole new system.
In the end, we did replace the whole system, partly because there were government incentives at the time which gave us about a $1000 in rebates. And we appreciated Bill's honesty and expertise.
Our system was over 20 years old and the heat pump compressor was not in the best of shape.

Furnace quit 2 days before Christmas, Rob and his team had a new furnace installed the day before Christmas and we had a warm house for Santa to visit. Rob and his team were very helpful and professional. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I've had great experiences with Ivan at Flamborough Air Systems.
He installed my Furnace and AC over two years ago. On one of the coldest days of the year my furnace stopped working. Ivan was able to come within hours of me calling him, and had things working right away, and while he was there performed a couple of required manufacturer upgrades.
Ivan explained that the issue was caused by snow blowing into the air intake of the furnace. After clearing the snow everything worked like new.
