I reccomend this place for familes/kids/ grandma and grandpa...
They have the biggest and best breakfast at a great price...the home fries are home made.. the soup of the day is ALWAYS good and home made...The meals are huge and come with a soup or salad and bread... you cannot go wrong here.. best food on the menu:
steaks, souvlaki, club sandwich, western sandwich, eggs benedict and the gravy is home made so get a hot turkey open faced sandwich with lots of gravy and home made mashed potatoes!
Oh and the coffee is fresh and keeps coming!

Absolutely love this place. Sakawa is a rare authentic Japanese restaurant in the city. If you ever wanted to experience what folks in Japan normally eat, this is the place to go. The service is fantastic, the prices are great, food is absolutely fantastic.
Would I recommend this place and come back? You bet I will!

I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit!
And the patio? Don't get me started......

My family and I have been coming here for many years now. I don't know what the other 2 reviewers were talking about- the service is always great and the food is amazing. The ambience is wonderful and it is a great place for a date or a family outing. I highly suggest it!

I have visited this cafe for several times. Every time I was there, I was fully satisfied with the food, helpful staff. Ali - the Manager was very supportive and responsive. I would recommend this cafe ( they have specials during the week ).
Place is very nice, food is good too, service is amazing.
