We celebrated our 39th anniversary at this marvelous location.
We started with champagne cocktails. A bread basket with French and Pumpkin bread slices with butter and a red pepper spread arrived at the table. Very enjoyable texture and taste.
A little while later we had the soup of the day - a lobster and seafood blend. We found it a little strong on the seafood taste for a bisque and a little cooler than expected. During this course a crisp piece of baguette covered with a dollop of pumpkin mousse was presented - a delightful taste experience.
Did I mention this was also Thanksgiving Weekend.
Prior to the arrival of the main course, we were presented with a red wine ice (sort of a sorbet) which was delightful treat to cleanse the palate!
For entrees, my wife had the fish of the day - a pan seared trout with rice and vegetable blend. The trout was cooked to perfection and tasted divine, the rice was buttery and also cooked to perfection as were the vegetables. I selected the pan seared scallops and lobster. The scallops were succulent, sweet and melt in your mouth tender. The lobster was a shelled claw also sweet and tender. We had a bottle of VQA Pinot Gris from the Niagara Region. It beautifully complimented our main course. Both meals were plated in true gourmet fashion.
We shared the Triple Chocolate dessert which wasn't quite as 'chocolatee' as we would have liked but very smooth and enjoyable.
The tea we ordered following our dinners was properly prepared in tea pots with boiled water.
The wait Staff was attentive, polite, courteous but not intrusive. It appeared as though the staff collaborated with one another in a seamless fashion. It was a such pleasant experience interacting with them. They could not have been more professional or effective in their service.
Of course the Inn is an esthetically delightful structure. The Dinning Room is multi-levelled and nicely arranged in an "L" shape. Tables are carefully spread out so you don't feel that you are intruding on other patrons dinning. We had a 6:30 seating and there were several tables already occupied; by the time we completed our dinning ( nearly three hours later) the room was full.
We have been dinning at some of the nicest restaurants in the Toronto/Golden Horseshoe Region for decades. This trip to the Millcroft Inn and Spa was one of the best dinning experience we've had - period!

Local pub with small-town feel but a huge atmosphere. Well priced, diverse soul food menu, friendly staff, cottage-rustic vibe and a nice selection of beer.
We went on Wednesday Wing night and it was packed by 5:30 with a short line-up to get in. They had a table for us right away in a nice location. One of us wanted wings and asked if there were any dry-rubbed flavours, as there didn't appear to be any on the menu. To our delight they had a dry Cajun flavour that was excellent. Wings themselves were large and meaty and the vegetables that came with them were just enough and freshly cut. All of which was served with a generous stack of napkins and wet-wipes.
The other ordered the aptly named "Long-Weekend Burger" complete with cheddar & Swiss, sautéed mushrooms & caramelized onions and opted for sweet-potato fries as a side for an additional cost. (I don't know about you, but whenever there's a "long-weekend" in my circle there's always bacon involved ~ but they had another burger with some on it) The burger itself was huge, juicy, and did not have a lot of added flavouring allowing the true taste of the beef to come through. This allowed the flavour to be somewhat customized with the good selection of condiments delivered to the table. Freshly cut tomatoes & red onion topped it under a nice Kaiser roll. Sweet potato fries were plentiful, crisp, long and lightly dusted with sea salt to be complimented by white or malt vinegar and/or their own house dip.
Beers were served in a frosted glass, which compelled us to have more than one ~ otherwise this would be in the $11-25 range!
Bathrooms were clean and adequate. House was well-kept. The only gripe we had was the dim lighting which made it hard to read the Trivial Pursuit cards at each table (which were a very nice touch, even though they were obviously an older US edition!)
It's rare to have a great dining experience in such a packed house. Overall this was a great meal and it will likely become a default destination if we can't decide where else to try.

We went for dinner recently as we live in the area and love the Wooly for its atmosphere, choice of beers on tap etc....I just really wish that the food was better..as I remain quite surprised at the overall 'averageness' of the entrees here. Yes, they use locally grown, organic ingredients...I get and support that..but the portion size and flavour leave me unimpressed. Service is always great...and the beer is plentiful and cold...but I think I'll just start going there for beers and maybe fries (which can be hit and miss)...there are just much better places close by (IMO) to get a better pub meal. I will say that of our three meals...mine was the best..a traditional chicken burger with salad..the house dressing was nice. Based on our experience I would not recommend the Cobb salad (very small portion and was drenched in ranch dressing) or the chicken tenders which were just average.

Yes, Snooty Fox needs some new pictures on the wall. But thats IT.
I dont know of another bar who caters more to customers more. They have tonnes and tonnes of great beers on tap. A list of great specials on everyday of the week.
If you havent been to Snooty Fox, than you should go right now. Seriously...

my first visit, We heard that they had a new head chef and that the menu had changed...my wife had the herb encrusted scallops with chorize and saffon for an app... it was to die for... I ordered the beef tenderloin medium rare with potato and butternunt squash puree... I dont like squash...I could have eaten a bowl full of it... the steak came with wild and domestic mushrooms and carmalized onions with a red wine sauce.... the steak was cooked perfect. My wife had potato and leek soup... the meal was one of the best I have had in a very long time... if you read my reviews you will notice that I always find somthing that is not done properly... not here... We WILL BE BACK.....

I spoke with Peter on the phone earlier in the week. He educated me and advised on his availability. He gave me incentive to come into the store.
Hands down the best selection of Futons around! I drove from Milton to Etobicoke, well worth it! I was able to try multiple mattresses for my futon and made an educated decision that I felt comfortable with, and purchased a futon cover as well to protect it. The price was right and the quality was there. Need a Futon? Go see Peter!

This is a dependable and satisfying traditional moderately priced restaurant in the heart of old Cooksville. I don't mind that the servers don't introduce themselves and that some of the customers won't have to produce ID at the Beer Store. What do those things have to do with a satisfying meal?
The menu hasn't change much over the years and you certainly won't find all the latest food fads here. I've always received a cheerful greeting, prompt and caring service, generous portions of freshly prepared, steaming hot food and decent coffee. That's all I expect and I certainly don't find very often.

Went in on a Monday afternoon had their special 'Panko Fried Bass w/ fries, gravy & Coleslaw' SO good! I prefer to come here in the afternoon when it is a bit more quiet or get take out in the evening as this place start hoppin in the evenings. But man this place is one of the top Five in fergus for sure! I also recommend their Cod and Fries!

I have been into the Cafe quite a few times for Lunch or to pick up some goodies and I have never been disappointed. The food is fantastic, and the portion size is more than enough, I usually can't finish my entrees. Their desserts are scrumptious and the service is very good. If you order a cake for an occasion, they will bend over backwords to give you exactly what you want and always with a smile on their faces.

What a nice surprise, after all the poor reviews - this is under another owner, had a great night with a set meal and a little live music (from the new owner)thrown in. Service was great, first time here, we will be back.

Have to say whenever I am in Hespeler it is always a pleasure to pop into the Java Garden. The staff and the owner are always smiling and serving up excellent coffee (and tea!).

Have been a happy occasional patron of the Niblick for a couple years. Have had lunches, dinners and drinks there. Have to say the food quality is excellent for the price and the menu features authentic UK dishes. The wings are big and the Niblick nachos are hands down the best I have had and are huge and can be shared by 4 people. Its no wonder the place is busy every time I have been there. Lively, fun atmosphere, clean washrooms and attentive staff make the place a real pleasure to visit. Family friendly.

I had an opportunity to make a return visit to this relatively new and purpose-built Keg recently for a family reunion. I’ve always liked this location's dining room. It is boldly elegant with the sort of wood tones one expects in a steakhouse but without them being overtly masculine. Several fireplaces add points of visual attraction.
The dining room was already completely full of local meat lovers at six so we accepted corner tables in the lounge that proved to be a fairly comfortable location sufficiently apart from others to afford privacy.
I enjoy quaffing a crisp ale with my meals, but discovered The Keg now only offers mediocre Molson products so we deferred to the wine list for a couple of decent Shiraz to share. I recall in its early days out west this chain was a staunch promoter of local and particularly well crafted beers. Like most chains, the bean counters eventually got control and quality suffers. People with a sound knowledge of food and beverages need to lead these companies and ignore the rebate-bait the major breweries offer for exclusivity.
All our food was quite acceptable, but pricey. Most of us started with the Escargot ($9) that seemed less garlicky than previous renderings. My massive $42 Rib Steak came precisely as ordered, perfectly medium rare with an aggressive salty char outside and moist redness inside. Other than the dominant salt and pepper flavors, there wasn't much of the distinctive well-aged beefiness a 28-day aged steak should bring to the table at that price point. It was a lean cut without visible marbling that might have been the reason for its muted flavour. It was accompanied on the plate by asparagus spears, grilled red pepper, and sautéed mushrooms that lurked under the flared salad bowl containing my economical portion of Caesar Salad. That standard presentation of a salad bowl on the plate needs to be re-thought as it makes combat with the steak a more challenging event than necessary. We also discovered the lounge’s tables don’t quite accommodate full meal service.
Throughout our meal the cheerful staff serving us was self assured and professional, a sign of good training that lamentably has become increasingly rare in chain restaurants. But the three young women at the host stand who were apparently hired because each owned a revealing black dress saw no advantage to thanking customers as they were leaving.
